CASSESE GENUINE CARTRIDGE WEDGES |
Antoine Cassese invented the first wedge in 1976. From the very beginning this wedge was not glue coated, in order to avoid jamming and technical problems in the underpinners caused by glue accumulating in the wedge shooting channel. In addition, this makes it possible |
1)To lubricate the wedges so as to protect them against rust, |
2) Allow a better penetration into the wood and : |
3) Lubricate the internal wedge shooting mechanism of the underpinner. Indeed, each time you shoot a v-nail, you lubricate your machine, i.e. “the more you work, the more you maintain your machine…” That’s the secret of Cassese underpinners’ longevity. |

the 10 COMMANDMENTS OF CASSESE CARTRIDGE WEDGE (VNAIL) |
1) Rust-protected |
2) Lubricated for smoother penetration and for minimum wearing of your Cassese underpinner (frame joiner) |
3) POWER STRIP (patented) All cartridge wedges* are produced with a corrugation in the middle that improves the resistance of the wedges and make them join even harder materials without difficulty. (*except # 3, 4 and 5) |
4) Produced in respect of international standards |
5) Manufactured with high quality steel |
6) Special wedges for very hard timbers are available. Cartridges labelled HW individually |
7) Quick identification: The cartridges are colour-coded to identify the size of wedges they contain |
8) Each cartridge contains a minimum of 275 to 290 wedges. Thanks to the cartridges, you use 100 % of the wedges purchased. |
9) Thanks to the cartridges, there are no parts to be changed or adjusted on your underpinner (frame joiner), when you change the size to be used |
10) Cassese wedges are individual, without glue. |

CASSESE WEDGE EXTRACTED FROM MOULDING AFTER JOINING (B) |

Cartridge wedges are made from a special steel alloy which gives shape memory properties to the wedge. This way, when it penetrates into the moulding, it spreads its wings which -because of shape memory- try then to come back to their initial position. This results in pulling very strongly the 2 pieces of mouldings towards each other, so as to give a perfectly closed corner. This is one of the reasons of Cassese worldwide-known excellent joining! |
